   They added Salt (Sodium chloride) and Potassium chloride (a salt substitute) to the salsa/ guacamole or whatever.

   After heating, the softer particles dissipate, leaving the sodium and potassium. As the mix is stirred, the two elements come into contact and cause a small spark.
