A little strange

, ,

Researching a forthcoming book, I requested a book through the interlibrary loan system. I was a little sad to see that it has only been checked out three times in the last fifty+ years, with me being the third. The first time was in 1970, which didn’t surprise me a whole lot. But what’s weird is that the second time was only a few months ago.

“Aviation and Space, Progress and Prospects.” ASME, 1968. I guess the technology is fifty years obsolete, but it remains weird that of the three checkouts, two are that close to each other, this far from the first.

What really strikes me as strange is that the library had it and it’s been checked out recently. A few years ago I got the entire RP Hunnicutt’s armor series for a pittance. This was when *1* book would go for hundreds if found at all. They were recently surplussed from the Ft Knox Armor School Library since they were replaced with digital. Not the only story like this either.
