Well, it’s *kinda* good news

The story starts off right, but doesn’t stick the landing.

Apple Makes Plans to Move Production Out of China

Yay! So, where’s it going? Kansas? Texas? North Dakota?

It is telling suppliers to plan more actively for assembling Apple products elsewhere in Asia, particularly India and Vietnam…

Crap.

Sure, India is light years better than China. China should be making *none* of the things that are important, and it should be *illegal* for US companies to have advanced tech made in any fashion in China. But this sort of stuff should be made *here,* not India or Viet Nam or South Korea of Japan or France or Ireland. If you want China to make your action figures and bobbleheads… go for it. Microchips or medicine? No. Just… no.

My late father—a railroad man—is spinning in his grave over the latest blow. Congress gets sick days—but the workin’ man doesn’t deserve them.

    It’s why I don’t vote.

Taiwan is the chip-manufacturing powerhouse. I worry that even if the PRC doesn’t invade and occupy, they can still destroy.
