The LOFTID inflatable aeroshell was apparently a complete success, inflating in space, entering, popping a chute, splashing down and being recovered at sea. I wonder if this could be conveniently applied to the Falcon 9 second stage.

The filming miniature of the USCM Dropship from “Aliens” is being auctioned off. It’s a bit incomplete and showing its age, but it’d be a hell of a thing to own. I’d love to have one in 1/35 scale to go with the APC model kit. Sigh.
