Probably found it by airborne radiation scanning.
Reports I heard is that it “pinged” off a car loaded with detectors going 70 kph. Since it was 2 meters from the road, I presume this means *really* sensitive instruments.
Interesting. Still no explanation as to how that tiny pellet managed to “exit the vehicle.” Was it in container the fell off and broke? Part of an instrument that fell off the truck? It seems highly unlikely that the little thing was just rattling around inside the vehicle – given how radioactive the pellet is – and then bounced a window or something.
