You don’t see the beam. So the footage of Scotty using a phaser with no fix in post’ was accurate.
As for the overseas footage—I can’t tell.
Either it is just a remote camera rig—maybe a low power laser hitting something pre-cut (I think I see tool marks in the wood)—or they need their asses beaten for not wearing enough protective gear.
I would want to wear the TWI suit AND be in a vehicle to do what is in that video.
Also show the tire jump from your Twitter. Nothing beats kinetic energy for the most part.
It does seem odd that this device is only shown cutting the tops of trees at a distance and not, say, burning through a piece of 2×4 on a test stand.
